Scholarships: Christoph-Rüchardt Scholarship
Founded by local businesses in Baden
The scholarships, named after the former university rector Christoph Rüchardt, were donated by local businesses in the Baden region and are aimed at Master's students at the Faculty of Engineering. They are funded by the ‘Faculty of Engineering Foundation’, which is managed by the Association of Friends of the University of Freiburg (Verband der Freunde der Universität Freiburg e.V.). From the 2025/2026 academic year, the scholarships will be applied for and awarded via the University of Freiburg's Deutschlandstipendium scholarship programme. This will increase the monthly funding amount from 200 to 300 euros. You are therefore applying for a Deutschlandstipendium. If you are successful, your scholarship may be funded in conjunction with the Christoph Rüchardt Scholarship. Applications must be submitted from 1 - 31 March each year via the Deutschlandstipendium portal. Students who are enrolled in a Master's degree programme at the Faculty of Engineering and have a current grade point average of at least 1.5 (German grading system) are eligible to apply. Applications are also open to students who will be enrolled in a Master's degree programme at the Faculty of Engineering in the following summer semester and have completed their Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of 1.5 (German grading system).
