Mandatory mask-wearing on campus
Extended mandatory mask-wearing for students, teachers and all other attendees: Wearing a mask is mandatory for all courses and study operations at the University of Freiburg.
Extended mandatory mask-wearing
A mouth-and-nose covering must be worn at all times in the following situations:
● upon entering University buildings in all entrance areas, corridors, passageways, staircases, elevators, kitchenettes and sanitary facilities,
● in attendance at all events, for example, at teaching and admissions events, written and oral examinations, first semester courses, meetings and conferences
● in the use of company facilities such as libraries, the computer center, the Freiburg Academy for University Continuing Education (FRAUW) and
● for independent student work in the premises of the university.
This regulation applies equally to students, lecturers, employees and all other persons present.

- The minimum spacing between any two people must be ≥ 1.5 m, both indoors and outside on campus.
- People who need to work together more closely must wear face masks / mouth-nose covering.
- Masks must be worn inside the buildings when in the corridors or stairwells; this rule also applies to visitors, delivery people and workers.
- A face shield is not considered a face mask.
- Indoor spaces should be thoroughly ventilated frequently.
- Lifts should be used by only one person at a time, or better not at all.
- If you come into contact with someone who has COVID-19 or develop symptoms of COVID-19, you are not permitted to enter university premises and must report this situation to your supervisor immediately.

Work environment (brief summary)

- All work that can be performed in Home Office should be done in Home Office. Supervisors are expected to be flexible in this regard.
- Home Office must be made available to employees in the higher risk groups for COVID-19 infection, in particular those with pre-existing conditions or immunodeficiencies, as well as pregnant women and nursing mothers.
- All meetings that can be accomplished electronically should be done electronically.
- Offices must provide at least 15 square meters area per person permanently working in the room. Exceptions must be officially approved.
- Office materials (desks, keyboards, mice, pencils, etc.) should always be used by the same person and not exchanged.
- Work surfaces should be cleaned regularly.
- Offices should be thoroughly ventilated regularly.
- You should wash your hands regularly.
- The TF campus is officially closed for everyone except students and university employees.
- The buildings of the TF are reopened for authorized people.
- Guests, delivery people and workers may be escorted into through the buildings; they must adhere to the hygiene regulations (spacing & masks).
