Georg H. Endress Professorship for Smart Systems Integration (Full Professorship at the German W3 level)

The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Freiburg invites applications for the

Georg H. Endress Professorship for Smart Systems Integration (Full Professorship at the German W3 level)

within the Department of Microsystems Engineering with a simultaneous appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of

Hahn-Schickard in Villingen-Schwenningen

to be filled as soon as possible.

We are looking for an internationally recognized personality with outstanding academic qualifications, experience in top management and leadership of large scientific working groups and good teaching skills. Experience in teaching and research in the areas of microsystems engineering and development of MEMS sensors, the implementation of front-end und back-end processes, and in particular the application of this knowledge in the quality assurance of these MEMS sensors is desired.

The successful candidate will be also appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Hahn-Schickard in Villingen-Schwenningen. Therefore several years of professional experience in a managerial position in industry or industry-related research are required of the applicant. She / he should be able to demonstrate successful implementation of research results into industrial applications. A proven track record in the acquisition of research projects as well as very good knowledge of German research and funding opportunities are required. The willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation with other Institutes and the University of Freiburg is expected.

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
