Full Professorship (W3) for Cyber-Physical Systems

to be filled as soon as possible in the Department of Computer Science with a simultaneous appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of the

Institut für Mikro- und Informationstechnik der Hahn-Schickard-Gesellschaft für angewandte Forschung e.V.

The position entails a close collaboration with the Institut für Mikro- und Informationstechnik der Hahn- Schickard-Gesellschaft located in Villingen-Schwenningen and St. Georgen and includes the appointment as a member of the Board of Directors. Therefore several years of professional experience in a managerial position in industry or industry-related research are required of the applicant. The candidate should be able to demonstrate successful implementation of research results into industrial applications. A proven track record in the acquisition of research projects as well as very good knowledge of German research and funding opportunities are required. The willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation with other institutes, especially with the chairs of the Institute of Computer Science, is expected.

We are looking for an internationally recognized personality characterized by outstanding academic qualifications, experience in top management and leadership of large scientific working groups as well as good teaching skills. Experience in research and teaching is desired in the areas of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), especially in the implementation and treatment of Big Data and Data Mining for Industry 4.0 applications, in the design of virtual models for CPS, the data and system security and safety, as well as the development of solutions for resource efficient production environments.

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
