The Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering
consists of two departments: the Department of Computer Science (IIF) and the
Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK).
The Faculty was founded in 1995. It is the eleventh and youngest faculty of the
University of Freiburg.
The Faculty not only includes these two departments; it also boasts a Professorship in Communication Systems and Adjunct Professorships in Telematics (Prof. Günter Müller, IIG) and Applied Physics and Solar Energy (Prof. Eicke Weber, FhG-ISE).
Science depends on the people who can teach, research, study, discuss, develop ideas and transfer knowledge. The 1,150 students, 35 professors and more than 450 research staff at the Faculty of Engineering are shaping the future.
