Grade calculation in the bachelor's degree programs

The weighting of module grades in each program is determined by the respective Degree Program Regulations.
Modules and parts of modules are graded as follows:

1.0, 1.3

sehr gut (very good)

Achievement is significantly above average

1.7/2.0/2.3

gut (good)

Achievement is above average

2.7/3.0/3.3

befriedigend (satisfactory)

Achievement is average

3.7/4.0

ausreichend (sufficient)

Achievement fulfills expectations despite deficiencies

5.0

nicht ausreichend (fail)

Achievement does not fulfill expectations due to significant deficiencies

The module grade is expressed only to the first place after the decimal. All further places after the decimal are dropped without rounding.
If a module has a final module exam, the grade of the final module exam is also the grade for this module.

If a module has exams for individual parts, the weighting of each of these exams in the module grade is defined in the respective Degree Program Regulations. Each exam within a module must be graded as ‘ausreichend’ (4.0, sufficient) or better in order to pass.
